How do I clean iron?

Wrought iron adds beauty, sophistication, style and value to any home. To keep the beauty and sophistication with wrought iron, you must maintain it. Wrought iron requires very little maintenance and the main one is to clean the wrought iron. Cleaning wrought iron is very simple. Routine cleaning will remove any dirt and debris from the iron, and keep it looking great, and durable.

To clean wrought iron, a solution of mild dish detergent liquid in warm water should be used. Add a small amount in a bucket, then add warm water. Take a soft cloth or sponge and gently wipe down the wrought iron. If there are crevices in the wrought iron, take the same detergent and water mixture and add it to a spray bottle, then spray in the area. Once the iron has been thoroughly cleaned, you can apply a metal-grade wax if the wrought iron is outdoors and is in direct view of the elements of the weather. The wax will protect the wrought iron from any damage. It is easy to clean wrought iron. This type of cleaning doesn’t have to be done every week, but should be done at least once a month. You can also use a feather duster once a week and use it to remove any dust that forms on the wrought iron.
